Cross-Cultural Mindfulness Leadership Training

Braided Wisdom Leadership is a cross-cultural mindfulness training program uniquely described as braiding the way of one’s spiritual path. Braided wisdom is cultivated by weaving and integrating cross-cultural mindfulness practices of spirituality and earth based practices rooted in indigenous wisdom and modern day understanding of human development to heal, strengthen and transform the human spirit.

Original Medicine

This program is a psycho-spiritual cross-cultural mindfulness approach to the teachings that weave together indigenous wisdom, mindfulness, and earth-based practices in order to integrate seasons and the transitions between the seasons as cross-cultural mindfulness tools. In indigenous societies, there are long-standing practices of creating the sacred, cultivating stillness and embracing silence. They cherish being in nature and conducting rituals to acknowledge the coming changes in the world around them and within themselves.

Community Healing Council

The practice of the healing council is based on indigenous wisdom that integrates psycho-spiritual experiences of self-development. Our approach to healing the collective is from a holistic understanding of cultivating authenticity.

In most cultures, the symbol of a circle represents wholeness, and the potential for unity. When we come together as an intentional community, for personal development and healing, we are honoring the sacred. We will cultivate the collective practice of listening,
witnessing, and holding space for the whole as we heal ourselves by acknowledging what needs to be healed.

We work with the Seasons, Elements, and Nature as direct mirrors for the healing process. Indigenous cultures recognize that the healing of self is connected to the whole community.

Earth-Based Practices

Indigenous cultures have their own practices of stillness, silences, self-reflection, healing, and visioning. The four-universal positions in mindfulness meditation - sitting, standing, walking, and lying down - are present in earth-based practices. The integration of these practices with the natural world is a paramount indigenous approach to mindfulness. Directly working with nature mirrors the living beauty within one’s own nature. This cultivation of understanding self through a relationship with the natural world invokes memories that ignite curiosity and wonder.

Restorative Economy Series

Braided Wisdom is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals ready to rise from the current policies that are destroying so much of our world. Our organization is determined to explore sustainable opportunities by reinvigorating old paradigms of restorative analysis in our communities in place of the current market analysis. This approach, which begins with essential self-discovery, can lead to a reclamation of cultural integrity and a deeper understanding of land and natural resources as they impact social welfare and development. This is especially concerning at a time where the climate crisis is no longer avoidable and survival is threatened.
